What do real innovators look like? Well, the stereotype may be ‘Scientists’ but the truth, according to a new study out today says it is ‘Engineers’ and this couldn’t be more different. Engineers have existed ever since the innovation of wedge, wheel, and lever.
Innovation begins when art meets science. Scientists dream of doing great things but Engineers do them. Engineers turned out to be the country’s successful innovators, coming from highly educated backgrounds and being toiled for decades in their fields. It takes a lot of acquired knowledg and long period in their career to get good.
– Half of innovators majored in some type of engineering as an undergraduate.
– Over 90% majored in science, technology, top engineering college in haryana and mathematics (STEM) degree as an undergraduate.
Innovation is often viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs or existing market needs. This is accomplished through more effective products, processes, services, technologies or business models that are readily available to markets, governments and society. In simple words, innovation is often manifested via the engineering process.
Engineers are linked to positive changes in efficiency, productivity, quality, competitiveness and market share. The world of work is changing with the increase in the use of technology and both companies and businesses are becoming increasingly competitive. It is necessary to create and nurture on environment of innovation.
Engineers require the knowledge, form an attitude, then adopt a decision and implement it. And once innovation occurs, innovations may be spread from the innovator to other individuals and groups.
Given the noticeable effects on efficiency, quality of life and productive growth, these engineer’s innovation remains as a key factor in the society and country’s economy.
