Four exercises for neck and back pain treatment

Most people, today, are health conscious. Exercise has emerged as inevitable part of daily routine. Many of us do not want any kind of hindrance in the way of doing plenty of exercise. However, there are many people who suffer from back and neck pain, and thus are unable to stick to regime. Although undergoing neck and back pain treatment is important, equally vital is to do exercise regularly as suggested by the spine surgeon.

Back and neck strain is one of the most common forms of discomfort and pain in the United States. Well, these are much more than harmless little aches causing sleep loss, depression, inactivity and weight gain, all of which can affect the quality of life you are living.  Here are a few moves to loosen up a little. It will not take more than a few minutes of your precious to do these exercises.

Neck Stretch

Sit on the floor with your legs crossed. Put your left hand on the right part of your head and slowly pull head towards left shoulder. You will feel stretch on the right side of your neck. Stay in this position and take three deep breaths. Start again and repeat on right side.

High buttock stretch

Lie on your back with your feet off floor and cross right ankle over left knee. Hold back left thigh near your knee and slowly pull your legs towards chest. In this way, you will stretch in buttock and hip. Take three deep breaths. Switch your legs and start again.

Seated spinal twist

Sit on floor with knees bent with left leg stacked on top. You can also sit cross-legged. Extend your right arm while placing it on outer part of your left knee. Now put left hand on floor behind you and move slowly towards left, moving shoulders and head with torso. While doing so, you will feel stretch down and up spine. Take three deep breaths. Now return to center and start again to the right side.

Child’s Pose

Lie with your face down while your knees should be tucked under you. Arms should be extended in front so that you can experience stretch from shoulders to lower back. In this position, take deep breaths and release all your stress in your back. Now gently walk arms towards right in such a way that torso extends to 2 o’ clock position. While doing so, you should feel a stretch towards left of your torso and take three deep breaths. Repeat to the left side while returning to center.
