Android O: What We Expect from Next Version of Android OS

There are still a few more months to go as the last update Android Nougat was released last summer, and it will most likely be designated Android 8.0 following the last two updates of 6.0 and 7.0 respectively. Google has announced this new feature PIP in Android O smartphones, earlier found in Apple’s iPad. With this feature you can continue watching a video even if you are chatting on some other app. This can be done by pressing the home button with the video becoming a small window that can be moved around but will not interfere with whatever you are doing on the screen. It thus opens up possibilities of multitasking.
Dots for Notification
Google has included this feature of a little dot that can be seen on the app icon in case of any notification. This was seen in iPhones for many years but this is a new app developer indicating any activity on their app. It works by pressing on the app icon to see the notification alerts.

This feature can make daily interactions less cumbersome by improving cut, copy and paste. Detecting the full address is possible by just double tapping and the entire thing is selected automatically. The same goes for phone numbers and email addresses too.
Google is bringing the Autofill features already present in chrome browser into the Android app. For example if you are logging into a twitter account for the first time on your Android phone Google will automatically install the autofill data from your chrome application.
Speed & Power Optimization
Google plans to make Android O more efficient by improving speed and making it boot faster and be softer on your battery. This will result in apps being downloaded faster without the help of developers.
Google Play Protect for Greater Security
With Android O Google Play Protect will integrate with Google Play store to provide better security for your phone. With Android O your apps are scanned more visibly for any malicious behavior with the help of a small card that is visible on the games and app screen.
Improving Battery Life
Android O has the capacity to limit the functioning of apps in the background thus improving the life of your battery and also the overall interactive performance of your phone.
