Visit to religious sites:
On the course of our visit to religious sites, we visit the Pashupatinath Temple, Changu Narayan Temple, the Boudhanath and Swayambhunath Stupas, Dakshinkali Temple and Karya Binayak Temple. The Pashupatinath Temple is located near Kathmandu, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It calls out to the devotees of Lord Shiva. You should not miss visiting this temple during Shivaratri, as it is celebrated with grandeur. Boudhanath stupa is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stupa is considered to be the one of the largest stupas in Nepal and is also held sacred by Tibetan Buddhists. According to legends, the stupa houses the remains of Kashyap Buddha, who preceded the enlightened one.
Nepal offers tourists a range of outdoor activities like river rafting in Trishuli River, a bike tour in Kathmandu, hiking to UNESCO World Heritage Site like Changu Narayan temple, a sunrise and sunset in Nagarkot, an opportunity to fly over the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, on a plane and touring Kathmandu in a cycle rickshaw.
Khokana is a Newar village located 10 kilometres south of Kathmandu. It dates back to the 16th century. It is well known for its mustard oil pressing industry, where the mustard seeds are pressed using traditional methods.
Chitwan, which means ‘heart of the jungle’, is known for housing the Chitwan National Park. The national park organises a jungle safari with elephant rides where you can see approximately 544 species of birds, deer, monkeys and one horned rhinos. Sometimes, you can also come across sloth bears and leopards. Chitwan is also known for its art and crafts industry. You can shop for souvenirs at places like:
· Happy House – This family-run business outlet is known for honey, which comes in a variety of flavours. They are also known for their vibrant Mithila paintings drawn on handmade papers by women’s cooperatives near Janakpur.
· Women’s Community Shop – Located near the visitor’s centre of the Chitwan National Park, this cooperative outlet is known for its souvenirs.
